Gentleman: a prefix to another term to imply that a man has sufficient wealth and free time to pursue an area of interest without depending on it for his livelihood. Horologist: a term used both by people who deal professionally with timekeeping apparatus, as well as aficionados and scholars of horology. This blog is a collection of pictures of watches in my collection. I collect affordable automatic watches and enjoy customizing them with unique dials, bezels, and straps.

Vintage Biltmore Pocketwatch

Orient Cosmos - 22mm black leather strap with white stitching - butterfly deployment clasp

This is currently my favorite watch to wear around the office or with jeans. I love how clear the dial is with the Arabic numbers and striking blue hands. I also enjoy the look of the sub dials which include 24 hour clock and week day indicator. This watch originally came with a 22mm by 20mm shiny black strap. I did not like the look of the shiny strap so I replaced it with a 22mm by 18mm matte strap which really makes the watch look great.

Orient FER2400CN0 - 21mm brown strap with white stitching

This is one of my favorite watches. I love the contrast of the blue hands on the cream colored dial. Plus, at 40mm this watch it neither too large or too small and works very well with a dress shirt. This watch came with a different dark brown strap, which looked fine in pictures but in person was too shiny. I really like the new tan leather strap which has a nice matte finish.
